(Mapleton Twp, ON.) -On Wednesday May 19th, 2010 at about 6:28am County of Wellington OPP Traffic Management officers were operating radar and monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 109 near Wellington Road 11 in Mapleton Twp. At this time Constable Henry Heidinga spotted a 2004 Pontiac Montana van travelling well above the speed limit. This auto was clocked on radar at 135 km/h in the 80 km/h zone.

When police spoke to the driver, they discovered that he had been drinking. The driver was administered a Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail.

John Zubrinic aged 40 of Hamilton has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada as well as Race a Motor Vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act. Zubrinic is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on June 21st, 2010 to answer to the charges.
